Tennessee QSO Party

TVDXA's club outing to K0EJ's mountaintop contest station — every September.

The TVDXA TQP Tradition

The Tennessee QSO Party (TQP) is held on a Sunday in September and is sponsored by the Tennessee Contest Group (TCG). Its goal is to put Tennessee's 95 counties on the air for operators worldwide chasing awards such as Worked All States and the USA Counties Award. The distinctive category plaques are hand-made in the woodworking shop of TCG member Mark, K0EJ.

TVDXA operates the TQP as a club activity from Mark's contest station atop Mowbray Mountain in Soddy-Daisy — a multi-operator, multi-transmitter, high-power effort that takes full advantage of his stacked monoband yagis and big towers. We usually sign Ted's call, W4NZ, from Hamilton County; in 2024 we had the honor of running the designated bonus station, K4TCG, whose contacts are worth 100 points each.
