Virginia QSO Party 2014

VAQP · March 2014 · K4VIG · Wythe County, VA · Sand Mountain Hunting Club, near Speedwell

We operated from a hunting lodge in Wythe County. The team consisted of K4VIG (who used to live in Wythe County), Ken K3JWI, Paul WA4AA, Howard WB4ZBI, and Ted W4NZ.

We set up two stations Field Day style — a TS-590S with a G5RV and an Elecraft K3 with a 40M Extended Double Zepp. Conditions were good, though we had to compete with the Russian DX Contest on the high bands until Sunday morning. As usual, 40m was the money band on both modes. Thanks for all the QSOs — it was fun!

This was our first year making the trip, operating Multi-Op, Multi-Transmitter, Fixed Station at Low Power under the call K4VIG, with about 19 hours of operating time.
