Virginia QSO Party 2022

VAQP · March 2022 · K4VIG · Wythe County, VA · Sand Mountain Hunting Club, near Speedwell

Our local Chattanooga club, the Tennessee Valley DX Association, made the annual trek from Chattanooga to Wythe County, Virginia, operating from a hunting lodge near Speedwell.

Our low-power setup was three stations — two Flex 6600Ms and an Elecraft K3S — feeding wires in the trees: two 40M EDZs, a G5RV, and a 160m inverted-L with one elevated radial on that band. Conditions were only so-so; activity was good at times, and we filled the slow periods watching the men's NCAA basketball tournament on satellite TV. As always, we had a lot of fun and ate very well. Thanks for all the QSOs — we appreciate every one of them.

We operated Multi-Op, Multi-Transmitter, Fixed Station at Low Power under the call K4VIG, for the full 24-hour period.
